What is a node in MachineWise?
A node is any machine, sensor, signal or derived data point in the system. Nodes can be added, renamed, regrouped and retired on the fly, and retired nodes keep their data.
How quickly can a new machine be added?
In the software it takes minutes: pick the machine-type template, name the node and place it in its cell. The MachineWise team connects the machine itself, typically in under an hour, and nothing else has to stop.
What is a formula or derived node?
A data point defined as a formula across other signals, such as energy per part, a ratio of two readings, a rolling average or a threshold. Derived nodes feed alerts and dashboards like measured signals, and history is computed retroactively where possible.
Does renaming or regrouping machines break history?
No. Machines can be renamed and regrouped by cell, line or plant at any time without losing history, and access can be set per node with role-based access control.
